My husband goes down to check in at 10 am- lady tells him why do you come down here you should use Ivy. Tropicana now has a stupid Ivy system that texts you- I told Ivy what had happened and she said nothing she could do at that time but rest assure if we went downstairs first thing in the morning they would fix it. Which he did he just forgot to tell us it was a smoking room and when I say smoking I mean smoking. Guy tells me he is so sorry no problem he will upgrade us to a much nicer room a suit. Walked down to the check in desk stood in line 90 minutes. Chelsea tower was always an option I could have booked but I didn’t. When we checked in at the kiosk we were assigned to the Chelsea tower. We booked and paid for a west tower room. Īfter staying at Tropicana for the past 20 years at least 5-6 times a year this was a horrendous trip. I Took my rewards card to hard rock and they matched my tier credits and included a comp room for the night after I mentioned what happened. I asked to speak to a manager and explained the situation to which she replied 'you will receive it in 3-5 days but still no explanation as to why the room i reserved was not held nor any apology for the roaches. I said check me out and refund my resort fee and room deposit charge to which he replied that I would get the refund in 5 to 10 days. Immediately after turning the lights on in the room I saw roaches scattering on the dresser top (its white and very easy to see the roaches). I was sent to a different room (room 635) in the north tower. I finally went to the hotel lobby desk and waited in line for 20 minutes at which point, I was told that the room that I reserved was not available.

After the 4th time and over an hour later I was still getting the 'your room is being prepared' message. I booked a comp room this afternoon in the south tower, drove three hours to get there and attempted to use a kiosk to check in several times. I spent a few nights there over the summer and always felt that the rooms were dingy and tired for a casino hotel but I tolerated it because friends like it there.
